SHIP is Celebrating with the Gitchi-Gami Trail Association

Paving is wrapping up on the new Minnesota State Parks and Trails Gitchi-Gami State Trail segment in Tofte!
Closing this gap in the trail means the three communities on the "West End" of Cook County are connected by trail. Trail users can get from Schroeder to Tofte to Lutsen, enjoy stops at Temperance River State Park, and take in several beautiful state waysides along the way. This 13+ mile segment also connects residents and visitors to a school, museums, resorts, restaurants, general stores, and so much more! Items like painting, vegetation, and some other final tasks were completed in November.
We're so thrilled about this long-time gap in the trail being closed and the opportunities for walking, biking, and rolling it will provide along the North Shore.
